Found this when clearing the house. It’s a whistle, London Silver 1987, with ten markers in it. The No. 1 marker doesn’t have any marks… but all the others do. Does anyone know what is it for???

They are butt markers. Sporting game shooters would be allocated a position (“butt”) before pheasants/grouse were driven towards them to shoot. The allocation works by each shooter picking a marker out of the box. No doubt the whistle would have been used for signalling during the shoot. The sponsor’s mark is that of Theo Fennell.
