Spirit kettle - unreadable hallmark

Another request for help in reading the symbol or determining the origin of the spirit kettle. Its height is 49 centimeters. The only trace resembling the factory symbol is inside the top cover (photo attached). Thanks in advance for any help!

Best of luck with that one! Too fragmentary even to begin a search. But the lack of other hallmarks (on the underside, for example) tells me that it’s certainly not sterling.

You may have to settle for “Victorian electroplate.”

Thank U, Jeff!
Victorian electroplate, it’s for sure.
The inside of the lid is hand-scratched with the following inscriptions: R 826 R/Z/ - O/L/Z
I’m betting on a few manufacturers: Martin Hall & Co., William Hunter, Daniel & Charles Houle, Edward Barnard and sons, Mappin & Webb.

I like the Martin Hall possibility. Certainly is right up their alley.

But there were so many silverplate makers, many of them short-lived and now forgotten…

I also think Martin Hall & Co is a good lead. That kettle is probably a “Louis” pattern.
