Just started to collect rather than simply buy and sell silver and I just got this from South Africa. It’s described as:

A CONTINENTAL SILVER CUP the circular body decorated with waves and dots centred with a ribbon cartouche engraved with initials, raised on a shaped circular foot with foliate and scroll decoration, 134g, 12cm high 1

My father lives near the auction house so that’s handy. Paid 900 rand hammer.

The South African seller wanted almost the same amount the ship the cup as it cost to buy…so taking chance untracked…so it arrives or it gets stolen I guess. Please see my other posts of other silver I bought this week.
