Can anyone help me with the marks on this spoon. I have tried finding them but cant see the fluerleur de lys mark anywhere.
Your caddy spoon is electroplated and not solid silver. Although many electroplaters’ marks have been documented and identified not all have been. As a consequence I am unable to identify the maker of your spoon. One possibility is Briddon Brothers of Sheffield.
BP stands for Britannia Plate and is shorthand for electroplated Britannia metal. Britannia metal is a base metal alloy similar to nickel silver or pewter.
