Hi,
I am trying to identify the maker of this old english spoon from 1780, London. The spoon is 8.5 inches long and has “WT” as the maker.
Unfortunately there are quite a few WT’s listed, William Turton, Walter Tweedie etc, etc.
What is your opinion of who the maker might be?
Regards

This is most likely to be Walter Tweedie. He registered a WT mark without pellet in 1779 and although he was described on this registration as a plate worker, on his earlier WT with pellet registration he was described as a spoon maker. William Turton did not register a WT without pellet mark until 1782.
