Maker’s Mark ID?

Hi: I have an old sterling Star of David pendant that’s marked “sterling” followed by a gothic “S”. Would someone be able to identify the maker?

The S looks very like the S used by the Sheffield Silver Co of Brooklyn, but their trade mark also had a man’s head and crown (see FIGURAL AND LITERAL TRADE MARKS ON AMERICAN SILVER:M-S). This may be an undocumented manufacturer.
