I have just uncovered these in the loft which were my grandmothers, may have been a wedding gift.
Couple of questions:
I am trying to date them and think they are 1940’s 50’s?
Are they cocktail or champagne goblets?
What does the Walton & Peart on the bases mean? shop they came from or a café?
Are they collectable?
Thank you
I would suggest they are either sundae dishes or grapefruit dishes.
As they are electroplated accurate dating is not possible. M&W used a dating system of different styles of letters on their Prince’s Plate and some work has gone into matching letters and dates (see British Silverplate Dating Systems - Mappin & Webb - www.925-1000.com). However your image shows what I think is a trade mark rather than a letter so your guess of 1940’s-1950’s may be as accurate as we can get.
Walton & Peart may be the retailer but I would have expected a responsible retailer to have put their name out of sight.

Walton & Peart is listed in Trades Directories during the 1930s in Derby:
So they were either stolen or, more likely, part of a closing down sale.

Thank you for the information much appreciated which makes sense as my grandparents are from Derbyshire.
My grandfather was a master baker who owned the Melbourne village bakery and cake shop and my grandmother ran the village grocery shop 1930 to 1950’s. My mother told me these were a wedding gift to them so wonder if they gifted to them by the company perhaps. Best wishes.
