Identification of teapot

Hi all, does anyone know what these marks on my teapot mean? The lion doesn’t look like the usual sterling lion.
I’d love to know the material. I think it’s electroplate - can that be restored? And, is it safe to drink tea from?

This is American electroplate. The manufacturer is E G Webster & Son of Brooklyn NY.

What you have is a kettle and burner, not a teapot. It would be a social faux pas to serve tea directly out of it! Electroplate can certainly be restored but it’s a specialist job and would probably not be financially viable.
