Hello again. I have a Masonic jewel, dated 1863, with a maker’s mark of HJT and I can’t seem to find the maker. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HJT is Henry James Thomson, this mark registered 25 January 1859. This information is from Culme’s London Gold & Silversmiths. However at the address listed by Culme for him I find in the 1863 Post Office London Directory a Henry James William Thompson (note surname spelling) listed as a masonic jeweller. It would seem from the 1861 census that the latter is the son of the former so had presumably taken on the running of the business.

Thank you so much Phil. Very much appreciated.
