I’m interested in knowing about this bowl I have come across. The refectory, Golders Green, 1916. Walker & Hall, Sheffield. Warranted Hard & Silver Soldered. Heavy. Can anyone help please? Thanks
Your bowl is electroplated, not solid silver. Walker & Hall were unusual among electroplaters in that they used a private date coding system and this bowl has their date code, “l”, for 1929.
It is very difficult to make any sort of estimate of value as it has no intrinsic value for its silver content but it may have some historical or utility value to the right person. I note from Google that The Refectory, a pub, is still in existence in Golders Green.
