Help with a French(?) fork

Hello!

I picked up a fork today that I was trying to research the hallmark on. The mark bares a resemblance to the post 1973 marks but I feel the item seems older than that (can always be wrong of course). It also seems that most French marks pre 1973 face to the left as opposed to the right like this.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
