I started collecting silver about a year ago. I started collecting James Deakin silver, as
Deakin is a family name and I live about 3 miles away from the site of his silver works in Sheffield.
After buying a couple of his spirit kettles I also branched out into buying egg coddlers, chafing dishes and food warmers.
My latest find is actually an original hardback 270 page James Deakin and sons catalogue… I is a wonderful guide showing the original prices and options for a huge range of items.
