Hi,
Can anyone tell me more about this marking - Elkington, Sheffield, England (pic attached) please? It is on the base of a rose bowl, and there are no hallmarks.
I haven’t been able to find any similar pictures online.
Is it silver-plated?

If I it is not hallmarked then it is not silver. Electroplate was what Elkington were best known for.
Okay, thank you. I wasn’t sure whether it was electroplated, as there are no specific marks for that either.
I carefully avoided being too specific. As you point out there are no definite signs of it being electroplate, but that is the most likely.
