Would this thing be made in 1955? I assume it must be since it’s engraved with 1955 but I would have thought it was produced earlier.
I guess this is a salt cellar?
So far I’ve been able to figure out it’s Haseler Brothers and Noble Haseler. The three wheat sheaves is Chester? The letter G I can’t find.
Made much earlier, so it was probably engraved when someone bought it and had it presented to someone.
Sterling, Chester, 1907:

The maker would be Haseler Brothers (Edward John Haseler and Noble Haseler):
Thanks. That is Odd someone would have 1955 engraved on it. Probably not ideal for resale.
Not really odd at all. That’s frequently the case with presentation pieces. Someone buys (or already owns) something like a sterling christening cup, that hasn’t been engraved. He then has the cup engraved for the specific recipient. It might be decades after the cup was produced.
A presentation piece or gift is supposed to be kept forever. Resale value isn’t the point.
