I have 5 dessert/soup spoons that was given to my mum by the local chateau owner in france and shes wondering about the markings and age of them.

They are English electroplate by Elkington, Mason & Co of Birmingham. Unusually among electroplaters, Elkington had a private date coding system and the “Y” is their code for 1884.
