Birmingham 1849 Snuff Box

Hello,
I have found this lovely Birmingham 1849? Snuff Box.
I beliieve Early Victorian (c1849) Sterling Silver Snuff Box

By maker of the period William Dudley, whom was known for making silver boxes of all kinds at the time per my research. Also unusual, is the pocket clip attached on the one side, I am assuming this was to ensure it does not fall out of a gentleman’s jacket pocket (I think. There is some heavy black tarnish on the inside? See photos for details.
Dimensions: 5 cm x 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm (excluding clip)

Any ideas as to value? Is it rare? Your comments will be highly appreciated.
Thanking you all the way from South Africa! Pictures below…

I agree with Birmingham 1849 and William Dudley. I don’t know whether the clip is original - it may be a later addition. For value check Ebay’s completed listings; I’m sure you will find several mid-19th Century Birmingham boxes to give you an idea of what people are willing to pay.

Thanks very much for the information.

I have had a look on eBay, the price range seems to be anywhere from 125 to 225 Pounds Sterling.
