I can’t seem to identify this maker, seen on a mustard pot, London, 1909.
AW/N in a shield.
Any ideas? Thanks
AWN is Alfred William Newbold - mark registered 7 June 1878 as a gold worker, but the business was run in the name of Alfred Edwin Newbold.
Culme notes “mark lost by 27th August 1894” so it must have been found again to have been in use in 1909. By 1909 the business was being run by another partnership, James Tharp & Herman Andrews, still under the A E Newbold name.
