Hi there, I am trying to identify the marks on this spoon, could anyone help please.

It’s an electroplate mark; 90 being a measure of the quantity of silver used in the electroplating process. The other mark (a crown?) is no doubt the manufacturer’s trade mark.

Thanks Phil that makes sense. What sort of metal do you think it is likely to be?
Probably “nickel silver,” which, despite its name, has no silver in it. It’s an alloy of copper, nickel, and zinc.
ETA: This is why a lot of silverplate is marked EPNS: ElectroPlated Nickel Silver. It’s the most commonly used base.
